Signs You Went To Oklahoma State University

These are just signs that you WENT to OSU, no one is promising that you graduated, especially if you spent a lot of time out on The Strip.

1.

You have never been to a home game where the stadium was NOT packed with people wearing "America's Brightest Orange". In fact, you take some pride in knowing that the most ardent student supporters (The Paddle People) were the reason that the NCAA had to pass new rules regarding fan enthusiasm.

2.

You know what it is like to have a president who truly cares about the student body.

3.

Unlike other Oklahoma schools, your mascot is based on an actual person, who also happened to be a bad ass in life. There is still a bullet hole from where he shot his gun in the SU basement.

4.

You take people who come to visit to eat at these places, but there is a pretty slim chance that you eat there on a regular basis, unless you work there. There's a pretty good chance you worked at one of them at some point during your time in Stillwater.

5.

You were or know several people who were sleep deprived and decided to skip the Homecoming game after hours and hours of late night pomping. You also know what pomping is even if you aren't in the Greek system.

6.

You know people who lived in Kerr-Drummond, or even better, you know people who lived in Willham (yay for editing software sorry guys) North and South before they were replaced with suites. They bought pieces of their torn down dorms on EBay!

7.

THIS is what you think of when someone says the word library. And you relish the sound of the 12 O'clock bells from the clock tower.

You've had at least one drink in the bar where Garth Brooks got his start.

9.

You know who the man in the center of the photo is, and he inspires you to be a better fan.

10.

You know that REAL tailgating should involve a map. You also know that game days are the one time that you can drink on campus without getting hauled off by the police... Speaking of...

11.

You've had a moment of confusion about whether or not to call OSU PD or Stillwater PD when criminal activity was taking place.

You have purchased beer at this fine establishment.

Of COURSE you know who Stripper Steve is!

You know people who have made the plunge in Theta Pond, and you also know that it's disgusting.

15.

This dog's outfit doesn't bother you in the slightest.

You still want to believe that there will some day be a Target that you don't have to drive an hour to get to.

You know that your student union is the largest student union in the world. You may not have had anything to do with it, but it sure does make you proud.

18.

You have been accosted by either Preacher Bob or one of his minions. You have found hours of amusement in this activity.

19.

You know that your school has a HUGE international student population. That means that you get to meet new people from all over the world and that you can also attend their different cultural days.

20.

You know that every college has it's campus legends (like walking up the front steps of Morrill means you won't graduate on time).

21.

This man taught you what it means to be 40.

22.

You wish that Eddie Sutton would come back to return the basketball team to their former glory. You don't care about his run ins with the law.

23.

You have seen some of the best has been musicians of your life at Orange Peel.

24.

You know exactly what this building is, but unless you're in the honors college, you've probably never set foot inside of it.

25.

Many a drunken night has ended in a line that goes out the door at this fine establishment.

26.

The campus map abbreviations have caused you to be late for class. Additionally, the campus map is a constant reminder that you are in a different college from at least a few of your friends. You know at least one person who is in Engineering, Architecture, and Agriculture. You also know at least one person who went to work for a big oil company after graduation.

27.

You've heard the rumors, but you've never been willing to step out in front of a bus to find out if you do actually get your entire education paid for, it would hurt too much.

28.

At some point in your life, it may be your first Christmas back with your family, it may be 10 years down the road, you will feel like this and want to go back to remember the good ol' days. Good thing Homecoming happens every year. :)
