Kyle Lawrence 3 years agoTim Burton, stop making movies. Your “dark interpretations” of perfectly fine movies isn’t subversive or interesting, it’s just boring and completely unnecessary. Alice in Wonderland is fine the way it is. So was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. So was 9. When was the last time you made a good movie? Edward Scissorhands? Jesus, man. Stop trying to prove how cool you are to the preteen hot topic crowd. We get it.

Sean Martin 3 years agoHmm. We’ve had “teen angst in Space” in the Star Trek movie, “teen angst vampires” with Twilight, and now — apparently — “teen angst in Wonderland”. Frankly, it looks like every other Burton film, with the *possible* exception of Sweeney Todd. I hope there’s more to it conceptually than “let’s get weird for the sake of getting weird”.
