He won in a landslide of very low voter turnout. His friends are friends from the 70’s and 80s, when NYC was a pit of despair. Its when he came up and it’s what he wants. He wants more government and more money spent on problems we NYers have been spending billions of dollars on and we’ve never seen anything approaching a solution. He is not going to move us forward. He is moving us backward and breaking us into tribes. He is not a uniter; he is an unabashed liberal government worker who lives on the public teat. He has never been a leader; he’s just been a climber. He speech was full of threats. Small, petty government-man who sounds like a powermonger. His policies have no mandate from the public. His policies only have a mandate from the echo chamber in which he has resided for his entire career. He doesn’t live in reality. He lives in the alternate reality of government as his life. God, we NYers are headed for some roller coaster ride.
