Presumably most mammals (and not just dogs) must do the same thing to drink. It is pretty interesting, especially when you watch a human trying it—he’s basically just splashing water up onto his own face by cupping his tongue forwards. I wonder how many proto-mammals died of thirst before they could pass on their genes? ; P
