At 24-years-old, Song Byeok was chosen to be an official propaganda artist for North Korea. In the late 90s Song lost his mother, father, and sister in the Arduous March famine that killed between 900,000 and 3,500,000 people. Since escaping from North Korea, Song has dedicated his career to highlighting the plight of his people and skewering the ruling Kim family at every opportunity.
