No one has the right to decide when Nature should take its course. What next? Give Nature a helping hand? If someone wants to LIVE, even if they’re 172 years old and every single organ is failing, then, by Hippocratic oath (remember that?) YOU as a medical professional should do ALL you can to help! The only “Nature” to be considered here is the patient’s own “human nature” — whether the person WANTS to live — or die. The arrogance of modern medicine forgets that the human body is an amazing, resilient organic “machine” and can often heal itself given the time, rest and a little help. As such, no case is helpless, and most experienced practitioners will tell you that, in the course of their career, they’ve seen miracles. I resent anyone deciding for a patient whether that patient should live or die based on their internal 4ukked-up eugenics, if that patient has placed their lives in the medical practitioner’s hands. To do less than your best makes you nothing else but a glorified #SerialKiller.
