What You Need To Know About The Beeb's 'The Musketeers'.

Hair. Beards. Leather. Swords. Hotties. What else do you need on a Sunday evening?

    No, not MOUSEketeers...

Rather, BBC1's new Sunday night drama is a reboot of Alexandre Dumbass...apologies, Dumas', classic 1844 novel.

As you can see above, it's packed full of sweaty, artfully grimy man-totty. It's certainly a very different take on the tale than the one you grew up with...

According to series creator Adrian Hodges: "This new version is not an adaptation of the book, but rather a series of new adventures sometimes inspired by the novel, sometimes by the events of the period, and sometimes by more contemporary issues given a historical spin."

Expect social media to alight with enthusiastic/hormonal appraisals on the four main dudes. There's Aramis, played by Santiago Cabrera

    ...Porthos (Howard Charles)

    ...Athos (Tom Burke)

...and, of course, D'artagnan (Luke Pasqualino). Or as he'll be known from here on out: "[Dreamy Sigh]".

Yes, that is Freddie from Skins, all grown up. Well, he's 23.

It promises plenty of swash for your buckle. Or buckle for your swash. Whatever. ACTION STUFF!

And, of course, it has this unknown playing Cardinal Richelieu. Culpability...Culpasoup...Capaldi, is it?

That makes you happy now, doesn't it?

    So...

    The Musketeers, BBC1, Sunday January 19, 9pm.
