'My Baggy Body' Should Give You Some Perspective On Your Own Body Issues.

Getting under the skin of a real - and unimaginably mortifying - problem.

This is Pauline, one of the subjects featured in Channel 4's latest body-shock documentary

It's about the physical effects that dramatic weight-loss can have on the body.

The rise in weight-loss surgery in the last decade has left thousands of people with excess skin, but the NHS restricts any subsequent cosmetic surgery - meaning some people are left with "excess skin".

The programme focuses on three people: Pauline, Sarah...

    ...and Gregg.

The three of them have lost 43 stone between them, but, as you can see, have been left with shocking amounts of loose skin.

Though it might appear to be another "point and judge" horror show, programme makers insist the thrust of 'My Baggy Body' is to demonstrate how, through a combination of further surgery and willpower, they are determined to overcome the horrible affliction.

'My Baggy Body', Channel 4, Monday (January 20), 10pm.
