Clearly there was more to this story, considering he said she said something before she turned the camera on and called her anti police. But, what matters most is that in some states, like Illinois, its illegal to videotape police officers for safety concerns. She went against a law, she gets arrested. That’s how it works.

Just wait for the potential trial.

The only way this type of bullshit is ever going to get fixed is when enough people win enough civil lawsuits and make cities pay enough money for them to make clear guidelines for stupid cops about how to behave in this situation.

Everything is becoming more transparent. Those who lie, cheat, steal, manipulate, bully, etc. Will be exposed. This is evolution and it is a good thing.

States need to start making laws allowing citizens to record police in public areas. It’s getting out of hand!

The arrest was unlawful. The police will lose the case against her and they’ll end up losing the civil case against them. In actuality the videotape of her arrest will end up be more important than her original intent of filming the traffic stop. She exposed this singular officer’s abuse of his position. Officers should not feel threatened by being taped or observed if they are conducting themselves properly. He’s been exposed. The tape will force action on the part of the department. Rochester will be better off because of it. She was smart. She stayed at a distance and didn’t interfere. She wasn’t confrontational and she didn’t resist. Because of the way she conducted herself, the tape clearly illustrates that everything that occurred was solely based upon the officer’s decisions. He cannot claim reaction to any act she committed. To say “you’re anti-police” and tell her to go away is laughable. And she doesn’t have to be on her property. She can observe *anything* from any vantage point she is legally occupying. And by definition, thats what being “in public” is. She could have been on the sidewalk at a non-intrusive distance. Good riddance to the bully. He’s the type of knucklehead that gives cops a bad name. Kudos to her for giving Rochester the opportunity to get rid of him.

It seems like cops are always whining “I don’t feel safe” when they issue unreasonable commands, or justify killing people by saying “I was afraid for my life.” Maybe we should quit hiring such pussies in law enforcement. It’s a dangerous job. Do it, or don’t. But quit crying that you’re afraid as a justification for petty tyranny.
