Whoever write this bullshit WORKS for the film industry - either directly, or indirectly. That is NOT why films HAVE been (for a LONG time, now) ‘shittier.’ In a simple enough nutshell, even this nbock-head wil understand, the ‘reason’ is that movies are being made that will appeal to as wide an audience as possible. By ‘wide,’ I mean GLOBAL, and, since WORDS - even situations don’t translate to all corners, they’re making films that DO…’translate.’ And wat DOES ‘translate?’ THings tht don’t involve words, speaking… situations based on reality, per se. In other words…COMICS. Action. Most films being made now (as opposed to JUST TEN YEARS AGO!) are action/comic, etc. type films, that have no need for anything more than VISUAL appeal. This is one of the biggest reasons. The others include Poorly made, and, with a HUGE stream that CONSTANTLY needs to be filled - especially with NEW ‘actors, (Right! Snore), there is NO STABILITY in a ‘film career’ anymore. A newhunk, hootie…whatever is used continuously. For that reason, and, also, because as is seen in the recent ‘X Men’ franchise, the actors’ fees are ‘too high,’ so, instead of paying ‘big names,’ they ‘re-launch a franchise with NEW - read CHEAPER - faces. This bullshit, how ‘we’ are ‘stealing’ the money that Hollywood would make, and THAT prevents them from making decent films has NO BASIS IN REALITY> NONE. Full disclosure: I DO work in the film business, so, that’s why I’m not disclosing who I am, but, look at what you yourselves can see: Just watch which ‘new faces’ you’ll see by the end of the year, and which ‘old’ faces (from VERY RECENT!!!) are out of the picture. As an example, (no need to single him out): when’s the last time you saw ‘flavour-of-the-month’ COLIN FARRELL n a big-budget, or big-studio project, hmmmm? In the ‘old days,’ you’d start out in small roles, and, over the YEARS, you’d develop a career, and - if you played your cards’ right - you’d have a career for YEARS (there IS sexual bias - woman top out at 40). The last actor I can think of who even comes close to this, is Tom Cruise. But, since then, the cycle of looking for ;fresh meat’ has accelerated to such a frenzy, that what’s ‘new’ today,’ is (literally) GONE with a year or two.
