1. Every few months, another new party funding scandal hits the headlines.
2. It's our broken system of party funding that allows the scandals to keep happening.
3. The main problem is political parties are too dependent on their big donors.
4. And those big donors could potentially exert a great deal of influence on a party's politics.
5. What would you say to David Cameron over dinner?
6. Political parties are spending more and more money every year.
7. Political parties are caring less about local parties.
8. The whole thing gives the impression there's something sleazy going on.
9. In fact, we're voting less because we are losing trust in our politicians.
10. But the truth is, political parties can be a great asset to democracy.
11. If we could get the big money out of politics, parties would be driven to listen to the individual voter.
12. So how can we achieve this and stop the scandals?
13. We must put a cap on big donations.

16. Essentially, we need to make politics about the voters and not about the donors.
