Revamping Your Wardrobe On A Budget

A few tips to help you get started

Are you a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl who's ready for a change ? Does your wardrobe need freshening up or even a major overhaul but you're just not sure that you can afford it ? I mean that's got to be expensive right ? Well guess what ? It doesn't have to be. Read on for a few tips on how to revamp your wardrobe on a budget.

First, forget everything you ever thought you knew about shopping for clothing. Forget about sizes. Forget about name brands. A $10 shirt from Target can look just as cute as a $60 shirt from Dillard's. The goal here is not to shop based on what designer label is on your clothing or what size you think you should be but rather what looks great on you.

Second, where to shop. This may surprise you but shop anywhere and everywhere. From Target to Dillard's, there's always something to be found. No matter where you go a clearance rack is your friend. Run and give it a hug when you see it, stay awhile, get to know it because let me tell you, that is a friend that never tires of giving. On more than one occasion I've found my pair of go to jeans, Levi's 529 Curvy for less than $15 at Dillard's. Second hand stores are great resources as well. At Plato's closet for instance I found a pair of Joe's jeans, tag still on them for $20 !!!

Third, don't be afraid to think outside of the box. This is about changing things up right ? Grab that top or skirt that you would normally pass by and try it on ! You may be pleasantly surprised and love the way it looks. Like it but still on the fence ? This is where it comes in really handy to have that friend who isn't creeped out by you texting her selfies taken in random dressing rooms to get her opinion. If you try it on and it looks good and makes you smile, don't walk but run to the checkout and take it home with you.

Fourth, don't be afraid to still buy those beloved t-shirts. I bought this long sleeved T at Target. I loved the color, it's comfortable and it can still be dressed up with a cute scarf.

Lastly, remember that you have to start somewhere so don't skip out on an item that you love because you don't have anything to wear with it. Always remember that you are building a new wardrobe and like anything great, it takes time. Happy shopping !
