This isn’t “refreshing,” it’s the same movie Disney Channel already makes once a month. But with a license the target audience has never heard of, and the fans of said license will absolutely hate the movie because it has nothing to do with the original. What an epic fail.
Response to CES 2014 Is Turning Into A Funeral For 3D:
How exactly are 3D Blu-ray releases offering “less and less”? If anything, the fact that we’re now getting more niche titles on 3D BD is a good sign. The major 3D releases are still coming out - look for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, Metallica: Through the Never, Thor: The Dark World, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Gravity, and Frozen all coming out on the format in the next three months. The big summer titles like Man of Steel, Pacific Rim, Iron Man 3 and the like have already been out a while. This happens every year around winter time, just as fewer video games tend to be released during certain times of the year. As to retail, I still see 3D demo setups in most electronics stores I go into. It’s true that Vizio is abandoning 3D, which is sad for fans of the format, but most of this article (as with pretty much every “3D is dead” article for the past several years) is speculation and putting words in manufacturer’s mouths based on personal observations from two companies. And the idea that Avatar is still the best example of 3D four years later is nothing more than a personal opinion. One company’s announcement does not make an event a “funeral” for a whole format.
