"We Are Hungry" Protest Song
Students created a parody of the popular hit “We Are Young” in order to protest school lunch programs’ calorie limits. It follows a group of high school students around as they struggle to complete classwork, at Wallace County High School in Sharon Springs, Kansas, and it’s been effective.

alyssamaed 8 months agoMy school has the same rules. The school took away chocolate milk and we now have reduced fat EVERYTHING. I’m not going to lie guys but yeah. A lot of kids don’t eat during the day now and sometimes that’s the only meal kids will get during the day. Plus how is seven hours really going to effect their weight. Most of their time eating is spent at home.

krisztinai 8 months agoI saw this on ABC News last night. The kids didn’t like the food and just plain threw it all out, because according to new guidelines, half a dish must contain veggies and/or fruit.
Watch children unabashedly throwing untouched food in the trash greatly upset me, plus it’s part of our tax money down the drain.
If you’re complaining about being hungry, then do what 99% of the world’s children do, and take what you’re given. Otherwise, it’s your own fault, and your parents should make you bring your own lunch. -

Ajbd 8 months agoHow are they going to eat something else when they are in class?? Lunch should fill them up and it shouldn’t be up to Michelle Obama to decide what they eat. I bet she’s sitting at home eating whatever the hell she wants. And I know her husband is out eating fried butter and bratwurst and washing it down with beer and cigarettes. What great role models.
