Yanayana 2 months agoSeriously Buzzfeed, stop posting ever photo realistic pencil drawing artist you find. There have been so many of these articles that it just proves that this sort of thing is rare or super-special. But more importantly, if the artist is making money from these, then they could potentially get in trouble for copyright infringement since these are all just exact copies of existing photos/screenshots without any artistic reinterpretation. Also to anyone who’s going to just say “you’re just jealous” or “then show us you can do the same” : I was an illustration major, I saw plenty of artists capable of this exact same type of artwork (in fact many of them were better and could do photo-realistic full-color paintings), it is nothing unique. Yes it takes practice, time, and talent, I will give it that. And these particular ones aren’t even as impressive as others that Buzzfeed has posted in the past; many of them are very clearly drawings with visible pencil-marks and clear evidence of smudging in order to try and smooth out the shading.

THANATOS 2 months agoNot trying to knock her drawings, but they are a little boring. They’re pretty good too, but drawings of photos that look like photos really isn’t that hard to do. It’s just a matter of how long you want to work on a piece and what you want to put into it. Tumblr is full of better drawings with more life and creativity.

amberl19 2 months agoI know what you’re trying to say. I’m not really a fan of literal, super realistic art that is just a drawing of a picture. I’m impressed by it, it takes a lot of talent, but to hang on my wall? If I want a photo I’ll just frame a photos ya know? I like art with feeling

Excuse me but you are allowed to have an opinion on something without it reflecting your own personal abilities. I’m sure there is music you aren’t a fan of, you don’t have to be a musician to know you don’t like something. At no point did this person say ‘I could do better” he just said it was boring.
