soylentgreenispeople a year agoYou get racism everywhere but having lived in both England and the US, I have to say Americans are more racist, at least outwardly. I’ve met some Brits who are super racist but you’d never ever know unless you really got to know them. Brits are extremely politically correct whereas in America you can get away with making all sorts of racist jokes. Plus American far less integrated. I was shocked when I first went to New York, the most diverse city in the world, and saw that you have neighbourhoods separated by race, like one area is totally black and the next area is totally white and the next totally hispanic and none of areas mix together. Quite a departure from London where everyone mixes for the most part. As a person of colour, I’d much prefer to live and bring up my family in the UK than US (providing there are jobs!)
