Tech Buzz No it's not happening. Ashton must be so relieved! They really spelled it out: “Just to be clear, Twitter is not making a television show.”
Remember the time when myspace was “awsome” then facebook came out and myspace was labeled “bad” or the “devil”. Now twitter came twittering along and now everybody is saying how myspace and facebook is “so stupid”. Now twitter announces a television show people reactions are through the roof as if its the next best thing. But if myspace or facebook announced this it would be the end of the world. But twitter is ok? ITS ALL THE SAME SHIT PEOPLE!!!!
I hate twitter and all it stands for
Twitter is pretty much already the public access television equivalent of the Tuberwebs. Anyone can have their own show; there are no ratings systems so 'personalities' don't know when to shut up; and you feel nothing but dirty self-loathing after realizing you've spent hours watching repeatedly insignificant attempts at celebrity from fame-hungry, affirmation-seeking talentless hacks. That said, please follow twitter.com/mehrshad.
Not technically, but they've 'removed some barriers that otherwise would complicate the production of the show' (If I recall the quote somewhat correctly that I saw attributed to a twitter PR person). In other words, they've received compensation in order for the TV show to be made, in return they've allowed certain permissions otherwise considered infringement or close to.
