That's precious Knut in the photo series and thanks to him I have become an avid bear fan. Amazingly, I read that black bears learn faster than chimpanzees when rewarded with food and they never forget once they are shown something!! Bears sadly are abused all over the world…let's work to ban bear baiting, bear dancing, trophy hunting, hound hunting, and bear bile farms….zoos will become a tool to perpetuate endangered species and many are improving their enclosures and providing the denizens with enrichment toys and lots of treats and coddling. Many zoo residents bond with their keepers and actually enjoy the attention they receive from the visitors.
