What on the sign leads you to believe the author of it is a “Christian”? Maybe the “Rev.” used as a title in front of the guy's name? There are touchy, vindictive, crazy humans of all beliefs. Some of them happen to be Christians. Agreed. But in the U.S. it's primarily Christians who make up that group. Or self-professed Christians, I should say, since when nutjobs like this are invariably called out on their BS and hatred we soon hear from others who say, “Well, he's not a real Christian. A real Christian wouldn't say that.” Of course, if we were to then talk to the guy, he'd say that he is a real Christian and that the person who said he wasn't is going to Hell.

Hi,
What on the sign leads you to believe the author of it is a “Christian”? Please don't generalize from this sign that Christians are “the touchiest, most vindictive, and craziest”. There are touchy, vindictive, crazy humans of all beliefs. Some of them happen to be Christians. Also, many of those who led the way in abolishing slavery, founding hospitals, and caring for the most vulnerable in the world have been people who follow Christ. As a person who hopes to be following Christ myself, I would challenge Rev. Briggs to read the book of Matthew and meditate on Jesus' words to the self-righteous religious leaders in his day. -
There's a sign that screams “sanity”.

Ah yes, it is the season for fruitcake. Let's all agree shall we, that we no longer are willing to hear the opinions of organizations based on supernatural beliefs, on science; that we will no longer consider the opinions of groups with institutionalized celibacy, on procreation; Nor will we allow homophobes or bigots to be the touchstone for policy on gay marriage of the role of minorities in our society.

Last I'd heard, it was zealot religious types that caused civil wars. Atheists cause universities, journals, and quiet, mutual disagreement to be settled through rigorous, civil argument. I'm just saying. That's what I'd heard.

Hmm, time to write Rev. E. F. Briggs!

Christians are hands down the touchiest, most vindictive and craziest group of people in the US. There aren't as many as the polls seem to indicate either. This is the kind of thing that drives people away.

Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.
The Treaty of Tripoli, January 3, 1797
