The shockwave would make it feel as though he were hit by something—it would be hard to differentiate shockwave/physical contact, especially with such a small object, I would imagine. This article's writer jumped the gun with the hype about 'direct hit', and all that BS. Very neat experience for the kid, if his claim holds up (which I bet it will).
