Blake Shelton Brags About Killing A Turtle On Twitter
Country music star and coach on NBC’s The Voice, Blake Shelton, just shocked Twitter by claiming he intentionally ran over a turtle. When he was called out for cruelty, he didn’t show much remorse.
So, what’s the deal with supporting this guy, NBC?
Update: Shelton indicated the tweet was a joke and that he wasn’t in Oklahoma yesterday. Barbara King (@bjkingape) weighed in at NPR regarding why these tweets matter anyway. Shelton’s fans continue to threaten turtles in defense of the initial tweet. I echo King in hoping that these fans aren’t serious.

robertcamerond 10 months agoI’m not sure this is a liberals v. conservatives thing. I’m not sure compassion for animals should be our primary concern either- if there was a reason to kill a turtle, kill a turtle. Why would you kill a thing for no reason? What is the purpose? So you can feel good about yourself? Maybe it was alot of fun, I don’t know. I’m not in the habit of killing helpless creatures for no reason. But I’m sure Blake Shelton is a tough guy (this basically proves it). I mean, I def don’t think of him as a shitty manufactured country singer who sold out to pop music so he could be on a terrible rip off of American Idol. I’m sure he’s not at all like the faggot he portrays on television- I mean, running over a turtle basically proves it.

Emily G. 10 months agoI like how someone turned into something political. I wasn’t aware that only “liberals” are compassionate towards harmless animals. Joke or not, I don’t go around beating down animals. Yea they get hit and it happens, but to do it on purpose (in theory since it was a joke) is just down right cruel. People with attitudes like that say and do really cruel things in the name of “sticking it to the liberals” Notice I said people like that, I didn’t label them by a political party or ideal

certainly resulted in thousands of your fans
across the country deliberately crushing
turtles - especially protected ones - in

I’d always suspected Blake Shelton was a bit of a douche after Iearning that he left his wife (who supported him financially during the start of his career) for Miranda Lambert, then spoke on documentaries about falling in low with her while he was still married. After reading this, I’m now totally convinced of his douchebaggery

As a fan of the teenage mutant ninja turtles, I an outraged. As a person I think it’s absolutely rediculus that people would care so highly about a damn turtle and do more activist work for an animal and care less about the people in the world that could use the help more. Though perhaps douchy of him, nothing to get all up in arms about.

Fuck this guy, and his defenders, this is so disgusting. I really don’t see any turtles doing anything to warrant being slaughtered by a bunch of rednecks.
Bragging so gleefully about killing something that wasn’t trying to kill you first, especially from behind the wheel of a car protected by tons of metal, is cowardly. Mr. Shelton is a pussy and probably a psycho as well. -
