Our flag should always be beautiful!” No. It was very important for them to allow flag destruction under free speech. A free country allows free expression, even when the message is against what you hold dear. We protect our people, but we don't persecute them for acts of speech with which we don't agree. Your statement is offensive to true freedom. We are free to do as we please as long as it does not infringe on the freedom of another. That is as far as it should be limited.

This reminds me of the “Never Forget” sticker I see at this shop down the road. “Never” faded away so it just says “Forget”. Damn

Aside from the nicely ironic image, let's not forget that we “cut and ran” in Korea, and again in Vietnam, and most recently in Iraq. So next time you're about to claim that Americans accept nothing short of total victory, read a freaking history book.
