9 Bananas Tattooed With The Likeness Of Pop Culture Icons

That old canard about playing with one's food has been exposed. Writes Honey, the artist responsible for these finely detailed banana etches:

When I'm not sitting in front of a computer, I'm always looking for something creative to do. We always have bananas in the house so then, I thought maybe I could draw on them but it wasn't easy as I thought it would be. I kept puncturing the skin with my pen. So I came up with the idea of using a safety pin instead (something sharp and pointy to use at the time), similar to what my tattoo artist friend did when he sort of showed me how to tattoo. I spend half an hour to 2 hours on each piece. After they are completed, I photographed and eat them. It's fun! You guys should try it some time.

Left unsaid here is that the perforations in the peel expose the banana's interior to oxygen, shading the fruit brown as a result. Genius!
