tomc6 6 months agoCurrently there are petitions up for 40 states; 6 states which went to Romney have met the 25K signatures required to get a reply and Florida did as well. Those states are: Texas, which according to this site - http://www.economist.com/blogs/dailychart/2011/08/americas-fiscal-union has paid 34% more in federal taxes than it has had come in from federal spending over a 20 year period starting in 1990. Georgia,another of the 6 states also has had a net surplus in taxes paid versus federal spending. Their neighboring states, North Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana and Alabama have had net deficits between federal taxes and federal spending. Somehow, I’m doubting Texas and Georgia are going to subsidize y’all once you secede.
