tokie 2 years agoPlaying devil’s advocate here. If these kids break their arms on private property they can sue. I don’t think the security guard is on a power trip, he’s just a dude trying to do his job. And the kid set off the guard by grabbing his board back. IMO, btw.

What rights does the guard have to take their property? He’s not a cop, he’s a corporate employee.

Steve P. 2 years agoPerhaps an easier way to get them all to leave is to confiscate the video camera and return it once they’re off the property. Guess it all depends on the definition of private property and if restrictions have been posted someplace for visitors to view and obey.

Gabriel G. 2 years agoThe trick of it is security guards are not cops, and have nowhere near the power or authority this guys was trying to exude. The guard may have been within right to take the board, but not engage in a physical altercation whether provoked or otherwise. Security is merely the watchdog/ alarm system that is there to alert the real police.
