John, you’re a moron. You proffer no actionable alternative for the “Blue Social Model”, alternatives were presented and rejected, see Ron Paul. The most annoying thing about this urgent request to stay home and not vote, because Romney can really make things worth this Republican Congress with regard to the Social Safety Net, The President did pass historic health care reforms, the features of which people desperately need and want, and The President is not a Monarch. He has to work with a Senate where 50 Senators represent more ears of corn then people, currently The Tea Party House, and SCOTUS that is ignoring 70 years of precedent, and even the concept of precedent as it has becomes an extension of the filibuster instead of an adjudicating body for at least four and maybe five members. I don’t exactly know what the fuck you want? Do really think that privatizing the safety net will improve outcomes after the 2008 Economic Meltdown. Would you like to have your only source of retirement in the market if you were 62 in 2008? Not to mention that the Republicans budgets and policy option selections are all dependent on fantasy numbers based on the premise that you can lower taxes for everyone and also cut $700 billion in entitlements, non of them specified, it’s a real magical mystery show, just like your editorial. With this Senate we’re not going to become Sweden, because of the current campaign finance system, see CU v. FEC. That the President can rebuild our GDP to 5 or greater and slowly improve unemployment to normative levels, sink OBL to the bottom of the Indian Ocean, Pass HCR that removes Pre-existing conditions, requires insurance corporations to pay out 80% of premiums in health care, offers incentives to cut down needless hospital readmissions by stopping surgical infections, letting families have their kids on their health care insurance until they are 26, the Consumer Financial Bureau, The end of the Iraq War, the pull out in Afghanistan, which will return thousands of troops to come home to the benefits of a strengthened GI Bill, the mitigation of Al Qaeda, with this Congress, with this Supreme Court, they are all big fucking deals. You want to improve the safety net, continue the path to full employment, return the GDP to 5+, and raise the cap on income eligible for Social Security and Medicare. Raising the retirement age isn’t plausible for coal miners and Electricians who work construction, having the wealthiest 1% pay 2 or 3% more as they benefit the most from the wars of choice, the infrastructure, the American State University Systems, this is where consumers are created, the unemployment rate is 4% for college grads. Keep incentivizing manufacturing in the US, build a Green Economy before the Chinese do. Forgive Student loans for graduates in necessary trades like Engineering and Nursing, etc, and take the money out of politics by creating a credits system tied to public funds created from five cent tax, distribute the credits to all Americans over 18, and de-leverage the lobbyists, full outlined here,
