105 GIFs That Should Have Been Sent Into Space

This was the first GIF we sent into space. Humanity could have done so much better.

This is the GIF that was beamed into space.

Made by conceptual artist Kim Asendorf, the gif titled, “Humans Watching Digital Art” was beamed into space as part of the Lone Signal METI (Messaging Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) experiment.

Who’s gonna see it? Whoever’s hanging out in Gliese 526, a star constellation approximately 17.6 light-years away from Earth. (One light-year is the equivalent of about 6 trillion miles.)

Here’s what we should have sent instead.
