Good for him. It takes a lot more courage for celebrities to stand by their faith than it does to cave in to peer pressure and political correctness.
As always Buzzfeed, it's so adorable to see the vile, bitter, hatred that spews from the supposed anti-bullying crowd as soon as someone they disagree with states their point of view. Sexist slurs, slut-shaming, vulgarity, threats of violence, and personal attacks on one's physical appearance, intelligence, and family suddenly become A-okay with the left as long as they're directed at conservatives. Your hypocrisy is disgusting and you should all be ashamed. Not surprising though considering ad hominem attacks are the only way to defend a relationship that cannot biologically serve the same function and purpose as marriage and is universally condemned in the scriptures of every major religion, most minor religions, and many secular philosophies. I'm not a huge fan of Bristol Palin but she articulated her view much more intelligently and respectfully than any of you have.
Alternate title: Here are 14 logical fallacies…
You don't know whether it was “for no good reason” and I didn't make it about race at all. The media did when they said this was a White on Black crime without revealing that Zimmerman himself is half Hispanic. The media did when they claimed Zimmerman used a racial slur and then deliberately edited an inaudible grunt to sound like that slur. The media did when they used outdated photos from years ago that depicted the shooter as a scowling criminal and Trayvon as a smiling young child. The media did when they claimed Zimmerman identified Trayvon by his race and deliberately edited the tapes to omit the part where the 911 dispatcher directly asked him the race of the suspicious person. The media did when they claimed footage of Zimmerman showed no injuries to his head or nose and then later enhanced photos and videos confirmed the exact opposite. I am not eager to label Trayvon a “thug,” nor did I say that anywhere in my post. I am eager for justice. If it turns out that Zimmerman did act illegally, which I fully acknowledge is quite possible, then he should be locked up. However, if his story of self defense is corroborated by evidence, which is also possible, then he should be exonerated and all of this pro-Trayvon rhetoric will seem quite silly. But that is for the courts to decide. I don't have the answers, and neither do you, the media, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Barack Obama, Eric Holder, or Wyclef Jean. I agree with you that the initial handling by the police was completely botched which is why I emphasized that it is good Zimmerman is being charged and the case is being investigated. I'm not eager to jump to one conclusion or the other, but clearly you are.
No mention of the bloody pictures of Zimmerman's head that were released today? It's already been proven that all the elements of this story that supposedly made it racially motivated were artificially constructed by the media to fit the narrative they desired to create. It's good that Zimmerman is being charged and the case is being properly investigated but leave justice to the courts.
Maybe next year he can wear a poodle mask and compete in Westminster.
Good for Obama :) Way to stand up for his values and stick to the position he professed when this country elected him. The government is not “putting barriers” anywhere. They simply won't grant the same special privileges as marriage to an alternate type of relationship that does not serve the same biological or sociological function, or fit the definition of marriage. Gay people have the same freedom to get married as everyone else but they choose of their own free will to engage in other relationships instead.
There is no logical analogy between interracial marriage- an institution that fits the definition of marriage, serves the same function as marriage, and has always existed but was prohibited specifically based on skin color, and gay “marriage”- an alternative relationship that does not fit the definition of nor serve the same function as marriage and has never existed except in a few select locations over the past two decades. If you want to argue in favor of legalizing it, go for it, but it is not the same as interracial marriage and the African American community has every right to oppose it based on their own personal and political beliefs.
I'm not Catholic but the man has a point.
