    my sister-in-law works at a women’s prison that fosters and trains dogs for service dog programs. after they’re housebroken and given basic obedience training by the inmates, they’re sent to Canine Partners for Life and trained as “service dogs, home companion dogs, and residential companion dogs to assist individuals who have a wide range of physical and cognitive disabilities.” It’s a great program, so if you have a few bucks lying around…
