therblig 8 months agoBiking up to the GWB on the NJ side, you go through Edgewater, which is home to colonies of monk parakeets (http://www.urbanparrots.com/). they’re a striking green color and often swoop down to check you out as you pedal. hearing their boisterous cackles is quite a treat…until you think about the fact that the folks who live near their huge nests hear it all day, every day. (p.s.: i watched with the sound on. but then, i’m a gold star whore.)
