kelleyp3 3 months agoSee while I am a liberal I understand some of these ideas. It is the taxes thing that really gets to me. Talk to people from other countries and they are amazed by how low our taxes are. I know what people are going to say “that is their country not this one”. Really though if you want to close the deficit gap a little you have to be willing to give money. Even if the administration close a bunch of programs there is still the need to take in more money. Also how is it that people believe Obama is throwing money at the problem more than Bush did? This deficit started under Bush’s watch so how was he not “making it rain” as that gif shows? Last point and I say this to liberals and conservatives together. THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT MAKE LAWS!! Go back and learn about the branches of Government and then elect Senators and Representatives who will really try to make this country better instead of just protect their party.

It can’t be bc of a healtcare system that a weak economy can barely afford, or the billions lost on bankrupt energy companies, or the drone strikes, or the ability to choose who’s a terrorist, or not closing gitmo, or the bailout for one automobile maker that cost everyone, or fair marriage rights. Republican and Democrats belief systems can’t be narrowed down to just “I hate Obama” and “I love Obama”. This article is stupid, stereotypical and offensive. niccileandraf 3 months ago….there is nothing new about republicans complaining about what is a essentially a DONE DEAL and expressing their supposed superiority over liberals despite the fact that they lost. Get over it…the racist, sexist, homophobic, reactionary and bootstrap myth loving republican candidates LOST ….go back to the drawing board and bring something to the American people that they can work with instead of lamenting and blaming Obama for your failures. Republicans MUST change or they will become irrelevant. The “moral” politics and the ever growing and glaringly obvious “isms” perpetuated in the Republican party make their party SO unattractive that fiscal conservatives with sound foreign policies and economic strategies that would benefit our country are being pushed out and ignored! You can’t get married because youre gay! But I’ll give you a job…is not an attractive way to pull in voters…..Also…this wasnt funny. It felt VERY MUCH like a gif whine session, I would have liked to see an intelligent but funny representation of conservative policies…..notice i said POLICIES bc I’m SICK to death of conservative “values” *sigh*

jacit 3 months agoSince when does being a conservative automatically make you wrong? What ever happened to the notion of “I may not agree with what you have to say but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it”? I am a conservative however I don’t agree with everything every republican says or does, and I don’t disagree with everything that liberals say or do. I am perfectly willing to listen to all sides of an issue and decide on my own what I feel is right for my life. I feel it’s completely ignorant to say that all conservatives don’t like obama because he is black and that all conservatives are rich white people (if you haven’t noticed a ton those rich people in Hollywood and the like that tend to be leftist). Also, I don’t understand how it was perfectly acceptable to bash bush at every opportunity but as soon as the shoe is on the other foot and people bash obama it’s because of his race or because conservatives are butthurt. GROW THE FUCK UP AMERICA! conservatism isn’t wrong and (i cringe to say it but its true) liberalism isn’t wrong. everyone in this country has the right to believe in whatever the hell they want whether that means someone believes being gay is an abomination (which i couldn’t disagree with more) or if someone believes in redistribution of wealth (which again, I couldn’t disagree with more). for fucks sake if I want to believe that the damn moon is made of blue cheese it shouldn’t matter to anyone. The idea anyone can say that someones opinion is wrong is completely ridiculous. GRUMPY CAT FOR PRESIDENT 2016!

Nevernude 3 months agoI think the problem with conservatism now is that it’s perfectly okay to be a fiscal comservative, but the social policies of the republican party are just so offensive. The thing truly holding back the party are the vocal bible bangers who bring religion into politics as a means to justify their desire to strip certain citizens or their personal liberties. Until the party evolves and assesses its bigotry, I see no hope for it.

Persecution complex much jacit? ;) Nobody said conservatives were “wrong”. Personally, I don’t even disagree with every conservative stance. I said that they aren’t funny, and their arguments don’t hold up to scrutiny (which is slightly different than being wrong). But on the other hand, you are wrong, when you said,”The idea anyone can say that someones opinion is wrong is completely ridiculous.” Opinions are often wrong. What about the opinion that murder is fun, and everyone should partake? People like to pretend that opinions can’t be wrong so that they never have to seriously consider whether their opinions are the ones that might be wrong.

You know what the problem with conservatives on the Internet is? They’re just not funny. This post is a prime example. Massive…painful…fail. Moreover, they spend so much time in the Fox News echo chamber that their arguments don’t hold up to scrutiny in the free market of ideas (also known as the Internet). Is it any wonder that conservatives have such a persecution complex on the internet?

Based on opinion instead of fact? Check I wonder why there aren’t more people rushing to the Republican party? Also, as it happens, I have read the Constitution. I have a pocket version, a full-sized replica, and an app on my phone. I’m fairly familiar with it. That has incredibly little to do with any of your arguments, though, so I’m not sure why you even brought it up. Also, if you don’t believe that raising the minimum wage will help, you probably haven’t looked into any of the studies done in areas where the minimum wage is higher already. But evidence has less and less to do with modern conservative parties, so I can understand why you’d be confused. -
