6 Photos Of The Stunning Jewel Caterpillar

Ladies and Gentlemen, meet the Acraga coa. Amateur nature photographer Gerardo Aizpuru spotted this gorgeous, unreal looking insect near Cancun, Mexico.

I don’t know why, but it’s reminding me of pomegranate seeds, and is making me hungry. Bugs don’t typically have that effect on me.

Gerardo Aizpuru writes on the Project Noah sighting page, that it is about 3 cm long, and looks like it is, “made of glass.”

According to “What’s That Bug,” this is the moth that it becomes:

ID: 282499

Kind of incredible that there are all sorts of critters out there still virtually unknown.
