Of course you're right, they were fascists, not capitalists and they were anti communist. I never denied that. Now you have to explain how that prevents them from being socialists, which is exactly what they call their anti-capitalist, anti-communist ideology!

Socialism means state intervention and planism, and you don't need to advocate a 100% socialist economy to advocate massive state intervention for the greater good while keeping some private property as long as private initiative doesn't come against your master plan, that still is socialism, with a difference of degree of the portion of economy owned by the state.

It's a very easy rethorical position you've been taking since the beginning of the discussion, constantly attacking without once stating your own position. Define socialism, explain how national socialist policies have nothing to do with your definition and I'll admit you have a point.

The New Deal was pretty socialist to me… I think your definition of socialism might be restricted to the totalitarian marxist version, while it's true that I'm quite liberal with the use of the word and probably would use it where you might talk of mixed economy or something like that. Or maybe you think socialism is a left wing ideology only.
