CB 11 months agoSorry about the misquote on the fat content. However, regarding the serving size, that’s one of the reasons why Chipotle should be on the list. The burritos weight between 1 and 1.5 pounds, and Chipotle sells them as single meals (their own burrito slogan “I’m not addicted, I just eat them every day”) Many health experts credit growing portion sizes as being the insidious evil in the SAD diet. Portion Size, Then vs. Now Removing the pork/meat, cheese and sour cream - s and adding veggie (tortilla, brown rice, black beans, fajita veggies, guac, corn salsa) - might convince one they’re eating a healthy meal, but the numbers are still extremely unhealthy… 1840 grams of sodium, 29 grams of fat/6 saturated, 820 calories Chipotle hides enormous amounts of salt, fat and calories just like the rest. Excessive salt causes tremendous health issues including weight gain. (The Institute of Medicine recommends 1500 mg max of salt per day per person.) Over cooked, fat, and salt laden vegetables aren’t good for you either. Maybe this should be on the follow up post “things people kid themselves about fast foods” :)

Sam 11 months agoGoing by the article you linked to, you got the saturated fat wrong. Burrito: 31g of fat, 11 saturated
BigMac: 30g of fat, 10 saturated If you remove the guac (which is an add-on to any Chipotle burrito), the BigMac would have almost twice as much fat as the burrito. -
