10. Julia Grant

Mrs. Grant lived in the White House from 1869-1877.

As a first lady she was well liked and hosted lavish events and dinners quite often. As a hostess, the administration often advised her to correct her cross-eyedness. But she refused, and President Grant said he liked her that way.

Regardless of her eyes, Julia is not attractive. Her array of photos makes her look harsh as a first lady, kind of like the Trunchbull from Matilda.

9. Lucretia Garfield

Lucretia Garfield married James Garfield at age 26. Their marriage quickly fell apart and he pursued an affair which he ultimately ended up regretting. Their marriage came back together after his confession and they stayed together until his death. So sad.

Lucretia is frightening to look at. In this portrait she looks sad and genuinely unhappy. I also do not know what the hell is going on her with her hair style; looks like she did a headstand for days.

8. Eliza McCardle Johnson

Eliza McCardle Johnson married Andrew Johnson at the young age of 16! This is the youngest a First Lady has ever married!

Mrs. Johnson did not enjoy being First Lady of the United States, and often avoided making public appearances alongside her husband (probably a good thing).

Is it me or does she look like a female version of William DaFoe?

7. Rachel Jackson

Andrew Jackson is known for being an absolute lunatic. He is known for his famous quote: "I have only two regrets: I didn't shoot Henry Clay and I didn't hang John C. Calhoun."

Well maybe he should have 3. Number 3 being this woman. When looking at Jackson, he wasn't the most attractive person either so maybe this was the best he could get. Either way, she's ugly.

P.S. Calhoun was Jackson's VP. So...that justifies his insanity.

6. Ida Saxton McKinley

Mrs. McKinley had the honor of living in the White House from 1897-1901.

I chose her because she's ugly. And also because she looks like a female Daniel Day Lewis and a serial killer.

5. Mary Todd Lincoln

Honest Abe wasn't the most attractive president, so it was really unlikely that he would be able to win over a "trophy wife" first lady. Queue Mary Todd.

Her plain, unimpressive appearance has earned her the number 6 spot on this list. Much to her misfortune, Mary Todd is also a running joke in a Geico commercial that also mocks the First Lady's appearance.

4. Martha Washington

I feel bad making fun of ol' Martha because she was the first First Lady. I have to respect her for that. But the rest of the First Ladies can thank her for setting the bar real low. Take a good look at her face. There isn't a single attractive thing about her. Not even her earlobes

She was apparently less than 5 feet tall as well. She must have looked strange next to George.

3. Abigail Fillmore

Apparently, Millard was just about as successful in the presidency as he was with women. Sting.

2. Barbara Bush

Mrs. Bush was married to George H.W. Bush. Thank goodness the public only had to see her on televised events for one term.

Years of tanning have left her looking like worn leather with fluffy q-tip hair.

1. Eleanor Roosevelt

FDR was by no means a faithful husband, but can you blame him? She's no looker. Eleanor helped the U.S. tremendously in regards to human rights and women's suffrages, so remember ugly people of the world - looks aren't everything.
