Heroes Wanted- Help Rescue Lyric Before November 17th

    Los Angeles, CA. Metro Area

    LYRIC

LOS ANGELES (Metro)- If you or someone you know is thinking about getting a dog, please consider going to 3201 Lacy St. to meet Lyric. That is the name of the street where we found her.

Friendly as can be, Lyric is obviously domesticated- she sits and lays down on command. She also managed to break into our house for a few minutes, while left unattended. Didn't harm the cats, go after the dishes or break the glass tables. Didn't disturb a thing.

She showed up wearing a nice (but worn) leather collar that had a rubber band, but no tag on it . Took her to local vet to get scanned and there was no chip implant. That means she has never been through "the system" before.

Even if we wanted to keep her (though we can't), it was suggested that we bring her to the local shelter, where everyone contacts if looking for a lost pet. So far she has been there for two nights. We are sad to hear that no has looked for her there.

We know, you can't save every dog- but unfortunately, Lyric's days may be numbered. The shelter said that they can hold her until November 17th, but cannot guarantee her being kept after then, unless she is claimed or is being held for an interested party. Her being a "Lab Mix" doesn't help much either.

That's where you come in. Anyone looking to adopt a dog should go meet Lyric at 3201 Lacy today. She is easy going and instantly lovable so hopefully she will have a list of interested potential families by this Sunday, when she is officially up for adoption. Even if she stays, having not been through "the system" and not knowing her vaccination record, she is more susceptible to catch something bad (the longer she stays). It is best to get her into a home as soon as possible.

As their staff is limited, the phone stays busy. It is better if you just go to the North Central Animal Shelter at 3201 Lacy St, Los Angeles, CA 90031. Visiting Hours are from 8am-5pm thru Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday. The are closed on Mondays. Lyric's Animal ID# is A1437412, if they ask.

We will update you on Lyric if we get any info, hopefully with good news. Please go meet her today.

    Please Help Lyric Smile Again...
