The 51-year-old actor could face 50 years to life in prison if convicted for the murder of his wife.

Michael Jace, who played a police officer on the hit show The Shield, was charged with murder by L.A. prosecutors after police said he fatally shot his wife on Monday night.

Jace's two young sons were at home at the time of the alleged murder and are now living with relatives, according to police.

If convicted, the 51-year-old actor could face 50 years to life in prison, TMZ reported. Jace is currently being held on $2 million bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
