Kim Jong-Un’s Ex-Girlfriend Was Reportedly Shot By A Firing Squad For Making Sex Videos

She was among a dozen North Korean performers publicly executed for making and selling sex tapes of themselves.

Hyon Song-wol, a singer rumored to be North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s ex-girlfriend, was recently executed by a firing squad reported The ChosunIlbo, a South Korean newspaper.

Hyon was among 12 members of the Unhasu Orchestra and the Wangjaesan Light Music Band arrested on Aug. 17 for making and selling sex videos of themselves, violating domestic pornography laws.

They were publicly executed with machine guns as other band members and their immediate families were forced to watch. The family members were then sent to prison camps under the regime’s assumption of guilt by association, the report said.

Kim Jong-un reportedly met Hyon Song-wol ten years ago before either was married. His father Kim Jong-il disapproved of the relationship and ordered them to break it off. Song-wol then married a North Korean soldier, but there were rumors that Kim and Hyon continued to see each other.

Kim’s wife, Ri Sol-ju, was also a member of the Unhasu Orchestra before marriage.

Hyon was a singer with the Pochonbo Electronic Ensemble popular for patriotic songs such as “Footsteps of Soldiers” and “I Love Pyongyang.” She was famous for her 2005 hit “Excellent Horse-Like Lady.”

The 12 victims of the execution may have been political dissidents. They reportedly had Bibles in their possession. Both groups have been disbanded following the scandal.
