I Took A Photo Everyday Of My Freshmen Year At Cornell

And it wasn't all about food.

4 years ago, before there was iPhone 6+ and before #100daysofhappiness was a thing, I promised my friend that I would take one photo each day to keep her posted about my college life. I'm graduating in a few months, and here's looking back at some key moments from my freshmen year.

Keep in mind that I was young and easily fascinated, most of which I still am. But more importantly, keep in mind that Ithaca was really cold for a girl from Thailand and my hands were shaky in all my photos. And I didn't know how to focus the camera on my iPhone 3G.

But here it goes... real people, real pictures, really graduating.

Moving In

Day 1: Successfully moved in to my dorm. Overly excited about the spiral staircase in it. — at Mews Hall.

Day 4: Walked all the way to plant science building. Discovered the charm of Cornell.

Day 7: Yes, this is my dining hall. Yes, that is a lobster.

Realizing how far from a big city this place is

Day 8: The word 'city' is overrated.

Dorming up

Day 12: Decided this is a good time to showcase my room (it's clean!) since everything is getting in place and more routine smile emoticon

Fliers fanatic

Day 15: "Cornell is quiet, but never boring". I love it here.

Day 17: The weather is nice, and the sun is still out. Enjoying a typical walk from class back to the dorm...

Day 18: Party with more ppl waiting to go in than ppl actually partying inside.

I've never had seasons!

Day 21: Rain shower. Leaves changing color. One walk to debate practice, many fascinations.

Extracurricular

Day 34, Binghamton: After 6 prelims, 2 meals at Friendly's, falling on my butt before the final, and 2 out-rounds, earned the novice champion title. This is my teammate featuring our championship doil.

First American snack

Day 37: This is what you need when you decide to register for only seven meals per week.

Finding different places to nap

Day 49: Woke up early to watch a movie on reserve at Uris library. Fell asleep on the soul-sucking leather couch. Did not finish the movie.

Yes, this is indeed a magical library. The books fly around and order themselves in shelves.

Fearless founder

Day 69: It's Ezra Cornell. And he is checking you out.

Snow was a brand new concept to me

Day 71: Grass in the Mann library. Bringing Ag Quad indoor before the snow. Yes, snow!

Healthy amount of insecurity

Day 93: Ate lunch at the Ivy Room. This is the Ivy spirit.

PE in College

Day 106: Went to my last Chi Gong class. Past classes involved staring at still water for fifteen minutes, walking in a straight line, napping, and moving back and forth slowly.

First finals

Day 120: Colorful markers and Advil. Final week brought out the notetaking freak in me.

Day 245: Enjoyed the breeze of Ithaca 2012 summer (but 8C, really?) one last time before I go home.
