They died of senility? What does that mean?
-
Taiji218 10 months agoActually, senility could mean Alzheimer’s or it could also mean multi-infarct dementia, a type of mental deterioration caused by transient ischemic attacks or TIA’s, which are mini-strokes where the emboli (blood clots) are typically only the size of a pinprick. They destroy only a tiny part of the brain at a time and the “mini-stroke” can last as little as 30 seconds. But the brain damage builds up over time and results eventually in dementia and death. Multi-infarct dementia is usually gradual and these days is commonly triggered by things like heart bypass operations. If you look at Bill Clinton, you can notice he’s in the earlier stages of it as a result of his quadruple bypass. Doctors often refer to multi-infarct dementia these days as “pump head” because they’re so often caused by heart bypasses.
