A culturally relevant exposé in which a wealthy Black lawyer goes undercover as a busboy at an all-White Connecticut country club (the article was originally published in a 1992 issue of New York Magazine). If you find the piece depressing, good news: you'll feel better by Tuesday.

This excellent essay (written by an Irish blogger) touches on the shift we might witness in pop culture as our President-elect replaces W., who argubly ushered in the age of Paris Hilton. Also kind of amazing: George W. Bush is compared to Reece (thanks, readers!) on Malcolm In The Middle, which — when you think about it — is eerily dead on.
Science Buzz Considered by some to be nothing more than a “psychological fad of cult status,” NLP is a form of form of communication practiced in psychotherapy (read: hypnosis) that some are arguing was the key to Obama's win. Maybe Obama was inspired to pick up the technique after Dubya held that press conference where he tried to spike his approval ratings with a magic wand and pixie dust.
Politics Buzz Barack Obama's Press Secretary is quite the ballbuster, and has no qualms with firing back at media outlets that seem determined to smear the Prez-elect (and, yes, we're talking about Fox News). So what he's doing, it seems, is defending his candidate by not being an evil a-hole. What a concept!
Despite her sinister grin, O was seen weeping when “the other O” took to the stage in last night’s victory speech. Or maybe “John Travooooooooolta!” was backstage and Oprah was just really excited. Same difference.
Newspapers didn’t play it coy in their front-page coverage. It goes without saying that this is such a profoundly historic moment, and it seems the media isn’t about to pull any punches.
