About 185 people had to be evacuated from the park Sunday, including dozens of hikers by helicopter from the summit of Half Dome, as flames quickly spread.
Update: The Carlton Complex fire forced as many as 500 residential evacuations by July 25. Four other wildfires in Washington also continued to burn tens of thousands of acres.

The Bernardo Fire burned more than 800 acres in northern San Diego County Tuesday. Meanwhile, authorities were trying to figure out who sent a “fire in your pants” warning.
The fires in Valparaiso consumed nearly 2,900 homes and killed 15 people while injuring hundreds more, according to Interior Minister Rodrigo Penailillo.
More than 2,000 homes have also been destroyed as flames engulf the port city Valparaíso.
The Colby Fire burned more than 1,700 acres northeast of Los Angeles on Jan. 16.
More than 2,000 people were evacuated Thursday as a fast-moving wildfire broke out near Glendora, Calif. Three men are in custody in connection with the fire.
“We know it’s human caused. There was no lightning in the area,” a fire chief said. The blaze near Yosemite National Park has torched more than 213,000 acres — the state’s fifth largest ever recorded.
