What's that, you're still printing your business card on paper? That is so last year. These days, business cards are going all virtual and that's a good thing. Not only are paperless business cards good for the environment, and easier to carry, they're also unlimited.

Yesterday, we noted that “Web 2.0” had been recognized as the “one millionth English word” by The Global Language Monitor. Today, the AP Stylebook, which you might remember from journalism classes, has officially added Twitter.
Reluctant congratulations are due to the English language, which celebrated its 1,000,000th word yesterday. That word is “Web 2.0”. Here are a few reasons why I am upset about this.

New stats from Nielsen Online show that by the end of 2008, social networking had overtaken email in terms of worldwide reach. Cue old person rant: don't people even have the time to write emails anymore? I remember when you had to go to the post office and buy a stamp to mail the letter you had written with a typewriter! None of this “poking” nonsense!

TechCrunch has uncovered a listing looking for Britney Spears' 2.0 Media Manager. The Pop Princess already has a Twitter, but it seems as though this is only the beginning of her (actually, this new manager's) online presence. Chris Crocker, this is the job for you.
Business Buzz The CSM is closing its doors as a daily paper to become primarily a web publication (a weekly print edition will still be available for subscribers). Headline 2012: Christian Science Monitor shuts down website to become a Twitter feed only (subscribers can still get a weekly HTML digest).
CBS launched a mobile photo upload app for the iPhone yesterday, and it quickly become a repository of NSFW images. The app lets users send photos like the one below directly to CBSeyemobile.com — they’ve since been trying to clean up the site, but a recent visit turned up photos of a dead horse and a cover shot of Rough Riders magazine.
Tech Buzz A new site lets you turn readers of your site into copy editors. This happens pretty much all the time already (turst me!) because readers love nothing more than to point out your errors. But it’s nice to see they’re trying to get the word about GooseGrade out in synch with National Punctuation Day.
Tech Buzz Finally, a social networking feature that mirrors the half-attention of real life. FriendFeed now lets you tell people you’re following them when, in fact, you’re ignoring their feed. Sort of like a cocktail party or family gathering, minus the face-to-face.
Tech Buzz This Palo Alto start-up thinks you’d have an easier time sorting through your inbox if all correspondence was “paid for” in a system of currency — called “Serios” — that attaches different levels of priority to each e-mail. But, much like the eternal “if a tree falls in the forest” question, will your mom consider her political blooper forward as urgent as a direct memo from your boss? (Answer: Uh, yeah.)
