Don’t worry, you’ll find it. This is a photo from the website of French fashion chain La Redoute, and once you spot what’s lurking in the photo, you’ll understand why they pulled it and had to apologize profusely.

Drawn by “The Family Circus” cartoonist himself on the wall of the Overlook Bar in Manhattan. I think Billy’s daddy has had too many “shmartinis” and may need a “shmintervention.” *wink*

The people in these stock photos must be the same motor-skilled deficient folks from infomercials. When will we stop exploiting these poor people and get them the help they need?

It was 113 degrees Fahrenheit one afternoon in South Australia, when this cub was offered a fresh drink from a garden hose. He happily accepted. (via.)

Disturbing yet strangely beautiful photos of riot police using hoses to spray magenta colored water on a crowd of opposition members, gathered outside of Kampala to mourn protesters who were killed earlier this year. Repression has never been so photogenically surreal.

Yesterday’s heavy rainfall in Paris had transformed the staircase above Lamarck-Caulaincourt Metro Station into water cascade eye candy. Kinda cool.

Awesome photographer Carli Davidson did a series of close-up photos of dogs shaking water off of themselves. The rest of her work is pretty impressive too. Make sure to go to her site and check it out.

Wait. Wasn’t this delicious twenty minutes ago? Time marches inexorably forward. But when tasty treats go bad before you even finish ingesting them? That’s going too far Mother Nature.

Despite almost unimaginable carnage from the recent tornado, as this AP photo of a destroyed home in Joplin demonstrates, these people are showing a remarkably resilient sense of humor. Bless you guys. Here are some links to offer help.

The tsunami which devastated Japan reached the shores of the United States this afternoon, thankfully in a much weakened form. Here is time lapse footage a six-foot surge hitting Santa Cruz. Fortunately, nothing more serious than damaged boats have been reported.

A massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Northeastern coast of Japan, the largest recorded earthquake in Japan’s history. The quake triggered a 13-foot tsunami, caught here on video ripping through a small town in Miyagi Prefecture. No word yet on casualties or the extent of damage. UPDATE: Better quality video now available. Find the latest news on the earthquake and tsunami in Japan on our Viral Topic Page.

I think this cat is on Vicodin. Seriously, I can’t tell if the cat is in a profound state of transcendental ecstasy or silently seething with rage. Depending on which it is, the rubber ducky is either adorable or menacing.

‘Pool Sprint’ has come up with a new way to get fit - and it involves a track along the bottom of a pool and some special shoes. Looks like it would be pretty difficult. I wouldn’t really call this ‘sprinting’ though.
