The ocean is afraid of me. I’ve seen it’s true face. Guess which comic character this rescued Kemp’s ridley sea turtle has been named after?
Movie Buzz For your May 21st Rapture Film Festival. These are the best apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic films that have nothing to do with Michael Bay or Roland Emmerich. Ever wondered what Watchmen with ponies would be like? I know. We all have. Well, here is my latest trailer and your questions will finally be answered.
Celebrity Buzz Artist Sean Hartter conjured up these Bizarro World film posters, done in the style of '70s b-movies, featuring his ideal casts and directors. I'd give anything to see Jodorowsky's take on “Star Wars.”
I don't think I would have ever described Rorschach from the Watchmen as cute.(Via Turtlefeed)
Goldenfiddle points out the disturbing yet unavoidable parallels between Watchmen and Where The Wild Things Are. I hear Spike Jonze inserted an awkward sex scene set to “Hallelujah”, too.
Movie Buzz In Watchmen, Dr. Manhattan's twigs and berries are on full display, which has led to a revolutionary idea for the film's video game adaptation.
Your first Watchmen/Arrested Development mashup. Tobias Funke…never forget!
Movie Buzz A terrible sex scene in the Watchmen movie has people talking. Zach Snyder, visionary director, made an unintentionally hilarious and awkward sex scene in the middle of the movie, weirdly set to Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. I'm just glad I'm not alone in my disdain, because I really have so little else left to live for at this point.
What if we all were watching the Watchmen as a Saturday morning cartoon in the 80's? I could totally see myself singing along: “strong together, united forever, they're the best of friends!” Mooooom, I want more Cap'n Cruuuunch!
Movie Buzz How can you tell if a movie's any good or not without actually seeing it? Oh, yeah: Critics! The score (so far): Generally positive, with a rave from Ebert and a few extremely negative reviews, most notably from Anthony Lane. I'll give my 2 cents after this evening's 12:20 screening! Update: As someone said as we left the theater at 3 a.m., “Well, at least we got that over with.” Un-smiley face.
Slate has a feature imagining Watchmen adapted by a bunch of other directors. This one made me laugh, even though my knowledge of Watchmen is limited to Anthony Lane's review and what I learned from Tumblr. (Probably because of that fact.) Hey, less than 12 hours everyone!
Get geared up for 3/6/09 with a super rad Watchmen/Futurama trailer mash-up: “Watcharama”.
Be the envy of all your friends with this uber-geeky T-shirt. Don't worry about whether it makes sense or not. Just go with it.
What better way to promote your movie than with free protection. And a funny pun.

A new viral site for the Watchmen movie — based on the paper The New Frontiersman — also has an awesome Flickr stream. When will Dr. Manhattan start his Twitter?
A video has surfaced of a 70s network news broadcast of a special report on the 10-year anniversary of the arrival of Dr. Manhattan. Viral marketing that isn't cheesy or contrived! Here's something to tide you over until the movie is released on March 6th.
