Music Buzz Eclectic Method recreates Jay Z's iconic track with dialogue from dozens of films. The result is borderline ADHD insanity.
Movie Buzz It'd still be just as violent. Animators Tom Haugomat and Bruno Mangyoku tip their hats to the Ryan Gosling indie flick.
Spotted outside a Apple Store in NYC the day the iPhone 4S came out . This is the best Steve Jobs haircut I've ever seen.
Governor Jerry Brown has declared today (10/16/2011) Steve Jobs Day for the state of California. To commemorate, Apple is holding an invitation-only memorial at Stanford University this afternoon; for those of us who won't make it, here's an appropriate video tribute. “I made song using only sounds from Apple products and Steve's 2005 Stanford commencement speech,” writes YouTuber AzRmusic. “Every instrument, including drums, has been sampled from a Mac product, tuned by ear, and replayed in the context of the song.” (via geeks.thedailywh.at)
Spotted on Bond Street in downtown Manhattan. Thanks Village Voice and Kenny City!
Culture Buzz In response to last night's announcement on the death of Steve Jobs, Apple customers and fans are dropping flowers and paying their respects at Apple stores around the globe. Turning off the Apple logo at the Hong Kong location was a nice touch.
While we wait for the second season of GoT, please enjoy this little ditty “Beards, Boobs, and Bean.”
I just watched a show for little girls called “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic,” and they just did Star Wars.
Seriously, it's definitely the ULTIMATE tribute. Watch this. (via interweber.tumblr.com)
The Lover of Life, Singer of Songs (and proud owner of 10 cats) would have turned 65 years old this Labor Day Weekend. Google Doodle pays tribute. (via thedailywh.at)
Last night in North Dakota, Warrant played this tribute to Jani Lane. The entire show was dedicated to his memory. R.I.P.
Last night Bruce Springsteen went to a JT Bowen and The Sensational Soul Cruisers show in a small bar in Asbury Park, NJ where the late Clarence Clemons' son Nick was the opening act. Luckily for anyone who happened to be there, The Boss had no intention of just watching. Springsteen jumped on stage and played a 45 minute set of some of his earliest songs in tribute to his friend. Thank god someone was there to record some of it. (via ology.com)
Bonus material of James Franco and Anne Hathaway in which they reenact a scene from “Grease.” This never made it into the actual academy awards show. Smart move?

No, really. You stay classy, dude. Thamail Morgan is a former big time football recruit turned outcast turned hero. I’m guessing Steve Spurrier thinks he is a big sissy, though. I do not know what Morgan did, but apparently Morgan violated a school rule last January and was booted from the football team. So he transferred from Newport to Cave City, which is 40 miles from his home.
Celebrity Buzz As you can imagine, the users of YouTube are pretty torn up about Patrick Swayze's death. Luckily, they've managed to funnel their grief into creative endeavors.

The greatest heights eluded Ted Kennedy over a lifetime of achievement and pain. No presidency. No universal health care, chief among his causes.

Senator Edward M. Kennedy, a stalwart liberal with a sometimes stormy personal life who spent decades near the center of American politics, died late Tuesday at 77.
