Food Buzz It’s a cake made with chocolate and it has monsters and Batman. What more can you ask for? Oh yeah, it's also a zoetrope.
Movie Buzz Warner Brothers has released a featurette for the upcoming Tim Burton/Johnny Depp vampire film “Dark Shadows” which strikes a somewhat darker tone than the controversial trailer released in March.
Movie Buzz Hey remember when soap operas in the 60s were about vampires and ghosts? Tim Burton is proving everything old is new again with this movie remake.
Culture Buzz Well this looks…odd. Tim Burton reimagines the Gothic soap opera as “Anne Rice's The Brady Bunch.”

It very Tim Burton-y. Why is the dog all stitched together? Did they chop him up in pieces before they buried him?
Movie Buzz Nice montage. Kind of makes me want to give Sleepy Hollow another chance. (via thehighdefinite.com)
Celebrity Buzz Brutal. Too bad it's not real. Just a very funny clip from from Gervais' new series, Life's Too Short.
Celebrity Buzz Or this is Robert Smith dressing up as Sherlock Michael Jackson and going to a Paramore show on the moors for some reason. Hard to tell. From Tim Burton's upcoming adaptation of the cult classic vampire series. Never watched the show, but I'm pretty sure Barnabas Collins wasn't a dandy version of the demon face from “The Exorcist.”
Culture Buzz This set of art is by Kevin Eslinger. It it is like Sesame Street went through some kind of Tim Burtonesque kaleidoscope. Kinda creepy. (Via The Uniblog)
Video of what The Man of Steel would have looked like if the Tim Burton/Nicholas Cage monstrosity had moved forward. We all dodged a bullet on this one.
Celebrity Buzz Marion Cotillard was honored as a Chevalier of Arts and Letters today in Paris along with Tim Burton. Unfortunately, this award + a clumsy Minister of Culture = an awards pin right into your chest. Nobody said art doesn't involve suffering. (Via The Swedish Bed.)
Celebrity Buzz At last we know how he makes his magic. [Ed Note: Man, I sure hope they use that awesome, haunting Danny Elfman tune for Alice In Wonderland!]

USA Today has published new images from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland featuring Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen. Also included are three more pieces of concept art for the film.
The first trailer for Tim Burton's post-apocalyptic tale, 9, is out today, featuring Elijah Wood, John C. Reilly, and Jennifer Connelly (among others) fighting against machines intent on their extinction. It's like Wall-E, but the robots are bad, right?
Here's a look at Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's “Alice in Wonderland.” Or is it a fake? The internet isn't sure. Either way, I'm concerned for that rabbit.
Movie Buzz Tim Burton and Johnny Depp have started filming Burton’s crazy version of “Alice in Wonderland” in the UK. The movie, out in 2010, will be a mix of live action and CGI, and Depp will play none other than the Mad Hatter (duh). Shots of the production have been leaked, so you can even see the unknown Australian actress, Mia Wasikowska, dressed up as Alice and one of the Tweedle Dees in the first two links.
Movie Buzz Tim Burton gets left out of the Academy Awards nominations, again. Sure, Sweeney Todd is in the running for best art direction and best costume - and Johnny Depp is up for best actor - but otherwise Burton’s latest is being snubbed by Hollywood. The closest he’s ever come to touching Oscar was a nomination for best animated feature in 2006 for Corpse Bride.
