Culture Buzz Although it seems like it would be fun to be the most famous plumber in the world, being Mario has its ups and downs. This “video webcomic,” is surprisingly touching, and was well worth my 90 seconds. (via brawlinthefamily.keenspot.com)
Science Buzz A never before seen strain of aggressively virulent E. coli, possibly a mutant combination of two existing strains, is being blamed for at least 18 deaths and 1,600 cases of illness in Europe. The outbreak was originally thought to have originated in Spanish cucumbers (an accusation from Germany which is vehemently denied by Spain), triggering quarantines and bans of all European produce.
Culture Buzz A little boy recently turned 4-years-old and got the nerdiest, wonderfulest Mario-themed birthday party. They stomped on balloon Goombas and took swings at a Chain Chomp pinata. I'm not too proud to admit that I'm jealous of a 4-year-old. More over at Behemoth Gaming.
What's the take away here? Romantic comedies need more explosions! This year's summer blockbusters are ready to party in this excellent supercut.
Artist Aled Lewis illustrates Mario's shame. He was in a hurry. There was a Koopa Troopa head poking out, if you know what I mean (you don't want to know what I mean).
Mario crafted from the notes of the iconic Ground Theme. Great…even though I can't read music, this will be stuck in my head for the rest of the day. Doo-doo doo doo doo doo, doop!
I spent hours on this game for what?! Nothing… Just a terrible deception.
