Although it only falls at #7 on Cracked’s list of the Creepiest Real-Life Robots , we’re pretty convinced it does the job just fine. Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro of Osaka University hasn’t just built Geminoid to appear as his own doppelganger, but more so as a “slightly retarded younger brother.” And that does …absolutely nothing to put as at ease.

Allegedly having served as the inspiration for real-life murders, Death Note looks about as inviting as watching Hello Kitty get euthanized.

SCIENCE BUZZ: Scientists in New Zealand have finally thawed and examined a giant frozen squid caught in the Antarctic early last year. There were no reports today of a giant squid on the loose in Wellington, so all must have gone according to plan.
