Remembering the prolific author of Fahrenheit 451 with his own words.
io9 just broke the news that the beloved author has passed away.
Rad Bradbury slammed the internet in the New York Times last week. In an interview in defense of libraries, Bradbury said: “The Internet is a big distraction”. He followed up with an anecdote about a recent conversation with Yahoo! “Yahoo called me eight weeks ago, they wanted to put a book of mine on Yahoo! You know what I told them? ‘To hell with you. To hell with you and to hell with the Internet.’ It’s distracting, it’s meaningless; it’s not real. It’s in the air somewhere.” Oh, Ray! The internet is distracting? You broke my heart, Ray Bradbury. And “Fahrenheit 451” is only a novella and not that good, so there!!
